Harvard-Kent Elementary School - Summer Learning Program

The HK Elementary School seeks to support a summer learning program that will focus on reading, mathematics, and social emotional skill development, as well as eliminating skill gaps for students.The program will parallel the model established by the leading initiative of the 5th Quarter, and will include highly qualified teachers and a full- day, 5 week summer learning experience. The program day will begin at 8:30am and end at 4:00pm. Academics will take place from 9:00am until 1:00pm, with a 10-15 minute movement break and a 30-minute lunch included. We will provide recreational and enrichment opportunities from 1:00-4:00pm. HK Staff will be responsible for the planning, implementation and supervision of the program as well as the hiring and supervision of the enrichment staff in collaboration with the Charlestown Boys and Girls Club and HERO Kids Sports.
