Blackstone School - Summer Learning Academy (Grades 2-5)

Summer Learning at the Blackstone (July 5-Aug 5th 2022): A 5-week program for students entering 3rd, 4th & 5th grade in SY 2022. The focus will be on academic acceleration and enrichment. The program will target literacy skills and language acquisition in ELA, reinforce and teach new math skills through a rigorous and standards-aligned curriculum that aligns with WIDA and CCSS. The focus will allow students to gain a deep understanding of grade-level content and improve language acquisition for English Learners. Enrichment will be offered in the arts. Students will immerse in different experiences that foster creativity. Each day students will partake in one of the following: music, dance, theatre arts, instruments, or photography.

This program is part of a Summer 2022 Vision Site. It will offer:
1. Meals prepared onsite
2. Transportation will be offered to transportation-eligible students from a limited number of designated neighborhood "hub" stops. Some travel may be required. Buses will leave and return to "hub" stops only at their assigned times. Students who RSVP by the deadline will receive "hub" stop assignments by the end of June.
3. Extended Day: Transportation will not be offered for students who enroll in extended day programming. Parents/Guardians/Daycare providers are responsible for student pick up at the end of the extended day.
