Afrimerican Academy - Summer Learning Academy

We have 9 subject areas to learn. Math's and English are taught by Licensed BPS teachers & 7 subjects are taught by 3 Afrimerican Academy instructors.The 9 subject areas are: 1. Restorative Project Management 2. African American Cultural Competency 3. African Diaspora Cultural Competency 4. Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship 5. Cultural Nutrition Education 6. African Diaspora History/civics 7. African Diaspora POP culture 8. ELA aligned with BPS Academic Standards and grade-level Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks 9. Math aligned with BPS Academic Standards and grade-level Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. Restorative circle practice was the primary communication (virtually and in person) format used throughout the 6 week session. Project management is another important offering all our students are taught in order to drive self motivated higher capacity problem solving. The students are given end of session assessments and surveys to aid us in evaluating & documenting our student benchmark achievements.
